Judges 16

¹Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot there, and went in to her.

¹參孫到了迦薩，在那裡看見一個妓女，就與他親近。

²[When it was told] to the Gazites, saying, 'Samson has come here,' they surrounded [the place] and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city. And they kept silent all night, saying, '[Let us wait] until the morning light, then we will kill him.'

²有人告訴迦薩人說：參孫到這裡來了！他們就把他團團圍住，終夜在城門悄悄埋伏，說：等到天亮我們便殺他。

³Now Samson lay until midnight, and at midnight he arose and took hold of the doors of the city gate and the two posts and pulled them up along with the bars; then he put them on his shoulders and carried them up to the top of the mountain which is opposite Hebron.

³參孫睡到半夜，起來，將城門的門扇、門框、門閂，一齊拆下來，扛在肩上，扛到希伯崙前的山頂上。

⁴After this it came about that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.

⁴後來，參孫在梭烈谷喜愛一個婦人，名叫大利拉。

⁵The lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, 'Entice him, and see where his great strength [lies] and how we may overpower him that we may bind him to afflict him. Then we will each give you eleven hundred [pieces] of silver.'

⁵非利士人的首領上去見那婦人，對他說：求你誆哄參孫，探探他因何有這麼大的力氣，我們用何法能勝他，捆綁剋制他。我們就每人給你一千一百舍客勒銀子。

⁶So Delilah said to Samson, 'Please tell me where your great strength is and how you may be bound to afflict you.'

⁶大利拉對參孫說：求你告訴我，你因何有這麼大的力氣，當用何法捆綁剋制你。

⁷Samson said to her, 'If they bind me with seven fresh cords that have not been dried, then I will become weak and be like any [other] man.'

⁷參孫回答說：人若用七條未乾的青繩子捆綁我，我就軟弱像別人一樣。

⁸Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh cords that had not been dried, and she bound him with them.

⁸於是非利士人的首領拿了七條未乾的青繩子來，交給婦人，他就用繩子捆綁參孫。

⁹Now she had [men] lying in wait in an inner room. And she said to him, 'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' But he snapped the cords as a string of tow snaps when it touches fire. So his strength was not discovered.

⁹有人預先埋伏在婦人的內室裡。婦人說：參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！參孫就掙斷繩子，如掙斷經火的麻線一般。這樣，他力氣的根由人還是不知道。

¹⁰Then Delilah said to Samson, 'Behold, you have deceived me and told me lies; now please tell me how you may be bound.'

¹⁰大利拉對參孫說：你欺哄我，向我說謊言。現在求你告訴我當用何法捆綁你。

¹¹He said to her, 'If they bind me tightly with new ropes which have not been used, then I will become weak and be like any [other] man.'

¹¹參孫回答說：人若用沒有使過的新繩捆綁我，我就軟弱像別人一樣。

¹²So Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them and said to him, 'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' For the [men] were lying in wait in the inner room. But he snapped the ropes from his arms like a thread.

¹²大利拉就用新繩捆綁他，對他說：參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！有人預先埋伏在內室裡。參孫將臂上的繩掙斷了，如掙斷一條線一樣。

¹³Then Delilah said to Samson, 'Up to now you have deceived me and told me lies; tell me how you may be bound.' And he said to her, 'If you weave the seven locks of my hair with the web [and fasten it with a pin, then I will become weak and be like any other man.'

¹³大利拉對參孫說：你到如今還是欺哄我，向我說謊言。求你告訴我，當用何法捆綁你。參孫回答說：你若將我頭上的七條髮綹，與緯線同織就可以了。

¹⁴So while he slept, Delilah took the seven locks of his hair and wove them into the web]. And she fastened [it] with the pin and said to him, 'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' But he awoke from his sleep and pulled out the pin of the loom and the web.

¹⁴於是大利拉將他的髮綹與緯線同織，用橛子釘住，對他說：參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！參孫從睡中醒來，將機上的橛子和緯線一齊都拔出來了。

¹⁵Then she said to him, 'How can you say, 'I love you,' when your heart is not with me? You have deceived me these three times and have not told me where your great strength is.'

¹⁵大利拉對參孫說：你既不與我同心，怎麼說你愛我呢？你這三次欺哄我，沒有告訴我，你因何有這麼大的力氣。

¹⁶It came about when she pressed him daily with her words and urged him, that his soul was annoyed to death.

¹⁶大利拉天天用話催逼他，甚至他心裡煩悶要死。

¹⁷So he told her all [that was] in his heart and said to her, 'A razor has never come on my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will leave me and I will become weak and be like any [other] man.'

¹⁷參孫就把心中所藏的都告訴了他，對他說：向來人沒有用剃頭刀剃我的頭，因為我自出母胎就歸神作拿細耳人；若剃了我的頭髮，我的力氣就離開我，我便軟弱像別人一樣。

¹⁸When Delilah saw that he had told her all [that was] in his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, 'Come up once more, for he has told me all [that is] in his heart.' Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hands.

¹⁸大利拉見他把心中所藏的都告訴了他，就打發人到非利士人的首領那裡，對他們說：他已經把心中所藏的都告訴了我，請你們再上來一次。於是非利士人的首領手裡拿著銀子，上到婦人那裡。

¹⁹She made him sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his hair. Then she began to afflict him, and his strength left him.

¹⁹大利拉使參孫枕著他的膝睡覺，叫了一個人來剃除他頭上的七條髮綹。於是大利拉剋制他，他的力氣就離開他了。

²⁰She said, 'The Philistines are upon you, Samson!' And he awoke from his sleep and said, 'I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.' But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.

²⁰大利拉說：參孫哪，非利士人拿你來了！參孫從睡中醒來，心裡說：我要像前幾次出去活動身體；他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。

²¹Then the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes; and they brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze chains, and he was a grinder in the prison.

²¹非利士人將他拿住，剜了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊拘索他；他就在監裡推磨。

²²However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it was shaved off.

²²然而他的頭髮被剃之後，又漸漸長起來了。

²³Now the lords of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice, for they said, 'Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hands.'

²³非利士人的首領聚集，要給他們的神大袞獻大祭，並且歡樂，因為他們說：我們的神將我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。

²⁴When the people saw him, they praised their god, for they said, 'Our god has given our enemy into our hands, Even the destroyer of our country, Who has slain many of us.'

²⁴眾人看見參孫，就讚美他們的神說：我們的　神將毀壞我們地、殺害我們許多人的仇敵交在我們手中了。

²⁵It so happened when they were in high spirits, that they said, 'Call for Samson, that he may amuse us.' So they called for Samson from the prison, and he entertained them. And they made him stand between the pillars.

²⁵他們正宴樂的時候，就說：叫參孫來，在我們面前戲耍戲耍。於是將參孫從監裡提出來，他就在眾人面前戲耍。他們使他站在兩柱中間。

²⁶Then Samson said to the boy who was holding his hand, 'Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them.'

²⁶參孫向拉他手的童子說：求你讓我摸著托房的柱子，我要靠一靠。

²⁷Now the house was full of men and women, and all the lords of the Philistines were there. And about 3,000 men and women were on the roof looking on while Samson was amusing [them].

²⁷那時房內充滿男女，非利士人的眾首領也都在那裡。房的平頂上約有三千男女觀看參孫戲耍。

²⁸Then Samson called to the LORD and said, 'O Lord GOD, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time, O God, that I may at once be avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.'

²⁸參孫求告耶和華說：主耶和華啊，求你眷念我。神啊，求你賜我這一次的力量，使我在非利士人身上報那剜我雙眼的仇。

²⁹Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and braced himself against them, the one with his right hand and the other with his left.

²⁹參孫就抱住托房的那兩根柱子：左手抱一根，右手抱一根，

³⁰And Samson said, 'Let me die with the Philistines!' And he bent with all his might so that the house fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he killed in his life.

³⁰說：我情願與非利士人同死！就盡力屈身，房子倒塌，壓住首領和房內的眾人。這樣，參孫死時所殺的人比活著所殺的還多。

³¹Then his brothers and all his father's household came down, took him, brought him up and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his father. Thus he had judged Israel twenty years.

³¹參孫的弟兄和他父的全家都下去取他的屍首，抬上來葬在瑣拉和以實陶中間，在他父瑪挪亞的墳墓裡。參孫作以色列的士師二十年。
