1Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons and carpenters, to build a house for him.
1推羅王希蘭將香柏木運到大衛那裡，又差遣使者和石匠、木匠給大衛建造宮殿。
2And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, [and] that his kingdom was highly exalted, for the sake of His people Israel.
2大衛就知道耶和華堅立他作以色列王，又為自己的民以色列，使他的國興旺。
3Then David took more wives at Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.
3大衛在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生兒女。
4These are the names of the children born [to him] in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
4在耶路撒冷所生的眾子是沙母亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、
5Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
5益轄、以利書亞、以法列、
6Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
6挪迦、尼斐、雅非亞、
7Elishama, Beeliada and Eliphelet.
7以利沙瑪、比利雅大、以利法列。
8When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up in search of David; and David heard of it and went out against them.
8非利士人聽見大衛受膏作以色列眾人的王，非利士眾人就上來尋索大衛。大衛聽見，就出去迎敵。
9Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
9非利士人來了，布散在利乏音谷。
10David inquired of God, saying, 'Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will You give them into my hand?' Then the LORD said to him, 'Go up, for I will give them into your hand.'
10大衛求問神，說：我可以上去攻打非利士人麼？你將他們交在我手裡麼？耶和華說：你可以上去，我必將他們交在你手裡。
11So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there; and David said, 'God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like the breakthrough of waters.' Therefore they named that place Baal-perazim.
11非利士人來到巴力毗拉心，大衛在那裡殺敗他們。大衛說：神藉我的手沖破敵人，如同水沖去一般；因此稱那地方為巴力毗拉心。
12They abandoned their gods there; so David gave the order and they were burned with fire.
12非利士人將神像撇在那裡，大衛吩咐人用火焚燒了。
13The Philistines made yet another raid in the valley.
13非利士人又布散在利乏音谷。
14David inquired again of God, and God said to him, 'You shall not go up after them; circle around behind them and come at them in front of the balsam trees.
14大衛又求問神。 神說：不要一直地上去，要轉到他們後頭，從桑林對面攻打他們。
15'It shall be when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.'
15你聽見桑樹梢上有腳步的聲音，就要出戰，因為神已經在你前頭去攻打非利士人的軍隊。
16David did just as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even as far as Gezer.
16大衛就遵著神所吩咐的，攻打非利士人的軍隊，從基遍直到基色。
17Then the fame of David went out into all the lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all the nations.
17於是大衛的名傳揚到列國，耶和華使列國都懼怕他。
