1Now [David] built houses for himself in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.
1大衛在大衛城為自己建造宮殿，又為神的約櫃預備地方，支搭帳幕。
2Then David said, 'No one is to carry the ark of God but the Levites; for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of God and to minister to Him forever.'
2那時大衛說：除了利未人之外，無人可抬神的約櫃；因為耶和華揀選他們抬 神的約櫃，且永遠事奉他。
3And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD to its place which he had prepared for it.
3大衛招聚以色列眾人眾人到耶路撒冷，要將耶和華的約櫃抬到他所預備的地方。
4David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
4大衛又聚集亞倫的子孫和利未人。
5of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and 120 of his relatives;
5哥轄子孫中有族長烏列和他的弟兄一百二十人。
6of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and 220 of his relatives;
6米拉利子孫中有族長亞帥雅和他的弟兄二百二十人。
7of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and 130 of his relatives;
7革順子孫中有族長約珥和他的弟兄一百三十人。
8of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and 200 of his relatives;
8以利撒反子孫中有族長示瑪雅和他的弟兄二百人。
9of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and 80 of his relatives;
9希伯崙子孫中有族長以列和他的弟兄八十人。
10of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and 112 of his relatives.
10烏薛子孫中有族長亞米拿達和他的弟兄一百一十二人。
11Then David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel and Amminadab,
11大衛將祭司撒督和亞比亞他，並利未人烏列、亞帥雅、約珥、示瑪雅、以列、亞米拿達召來，
12and said to them, 'You are the heads of the fathers' [households] of the Levites; consecrate yourselves both you and your relatives, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel to [the place] that I have prepared for it.
12對他們說：你們是利未人的族長，你們和你們的弟兄應當自潔，好將耶和華─以色列神的約櫃抬到我所預備的地方。
13'Because you did not [carry it] at the first, the LORD our God made an outburst on us, for we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.'
13因你們先前沒有抬這約櫃，按定例求問耶和華─我們的神，所以他刑罰(原文作闖殺)我們。
14So the priests and the Levites consecrated themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
14於是祭司利未人自潔，好將耶和華─以色列神的約櫃抬上來。
15The sons of the Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles thereon, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the LORD.
15利未子孫就用杠，肩抬神的約櫃，是照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的。
16Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.
16大衛吩咐利未人的族長，派他們歌唱的弟兄用琴瑟和鈸作樂，歡歡喜喜地大聲歌頌。
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel, and from his relatives, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and from the sons of Merari their relatives, Ethan the son of Kushaiah,
17於是利未人派約珥的兒子希幔和他弟兄中比利家的兒子亞薩，並他們族弟兄米拉利子孫裡古沙雅的兒子以探。
18and with them their relatives of the second rank, Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom and Jeiel, the gatekeepers.
18其次還有他們的弟兄撒迦利雅、便雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，並守門的俄別以東和耶利。
19So the singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan [were appointed] to sound aloud cymbals of bronze;
19這樣，派歌唱的希幔、亞薩、以探敲銅鈸，大發響聲；
20and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah and Benaiah, with harps [tuned] to alamoth;
20派撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅鼓瑟，調用女音；
21and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Jeiel and Azaziah, to lead with lyres tuned to the sheminith.
21又派瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別以東、耶利、亞撒西雅領首彈琴，調用第八。
22Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was [in charge of] the singing; he gave instruction in singing because he was skillful.
22利未人的族長基拿尼雅是歌唱人的首領，又教訓人歌唱，因為他精通此事。
23Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.
23比利家、以利加拿是約櫃前守門的。
24Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jehiah also [were] gatekeepers for the ark.
24祭司示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞、以利以謝在神的約櫃前吹號。俄別以東和耶希亞也是約櫃前守門的。
25So [it was] David, with the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-edom with joy.
25於是，大衛和以色列的長老，並千夫長都去從俄別以東的家歡歡喜喜地將耶和華的約櫃抬上來。
26Because God was helping the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
26神賜恩與抬耶和華約櫃的利未人，他們就獻上七隻公牛，七隻公羊。
27Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the singing [with] the singers. David also wore an ephod of linen.
27大衛和抬約櫃的利未人，並歌唱人的首領基拿尼雅，以及歌唱的人，都穿著細麻布的外袍；大衛另外穿著細麻布的以弗得。
28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud-sounding cymbals, with harps and lyres.
28這樣，以色列眾人歡呼吹角、吹號、敲鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴，大發響聲，將耶和華的約櫃抬上來。
29It happened when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and celebrating; and she despised him in her heart.
29耶和華的約櫃進了大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裡觀看，見大衛王踴躍跳舞，心裡就輕視他。
