1Woe to the bloody city, completely full of lies [and] pillage; [Her] prey never departs.
1禍哉！這流人血的城，充滿謊詐和強暴，搶奪的事總不止息。
2The noise of the whip, The noise of the rattling of the wheel, Galloping horses And bounding chariots!
2鞭聲響亮，車輪轟轟，馬匹踢跳，車輛奔騰，
3Horsemen charging, Swords flashing, spears gleaming, Many slain, a mass of corpses, And countless dead bodies-- They stumble over the dead bodies!
3馬兵爭先，刀劍發光，槍矛閃爍，被殺的甚多，屍首成了大堆，屍骸無數，人碰著而跌倒，
4[All] because of the many harlotries of the harlot, The charming one, the mistress of sorceries, Who sells nations by her harlotries And families by her sorceries.
4都因那美貌的妓女多有淫行，慣行邪術，藉淫行誘惑列國，用邪術誘惑（原文是賣）多族。
5'Behold, I am against you,' declares the LORD of hosts; 'And I will lift up your skirts over your face, And show to the nations your nakedness And to the kingdoms your disgrace.
5萬軍之耶和華說：我與你為敵；我必揭起你的衣襟，蒙在你臉上，使列國看見你的赤體，使列邦觀看你的醜陋。
6'I will throw filth on you And make you vile, And set you up as a spectacle.
6我必將可憎污穢之物拋在你身上，辱沒你，為眾目所觀。
7'And it will come about that all who see you Will shrink from you and say, 'Nineveh is devastated! Who will grieve for her?' Where will I seek comforters for you?'
7凡看見你的，都必逃跑離開你，說：尼尼微荒涼了！有誰為你悲傷呢？我何處尋得安慰你的人呢？
8Are you better than No-amon, Which was situated by the waters of the Nile, With water surrounding her, Whose rampart [was] the sea, Whose wall [consisted] of the sea?
8你豈比挪亞們（或）強呢？挪亞們坐落在眾河之間，周圍有水；海（指尼羅河）作他的濠溝，又作他的城牆。
9Ethiopia was [her] might, And Egypt too, without limits. Put and Lubim were among her helpers.
9古實和埃及是他無窮的力量；弗人和路比族是他的幫手。
10Yet she became an exile, She went into captivity; Also her small children were dashed to pieces At the head of every street; They cast lots for her honorable men, And all her great men were bound with fetters.
10但他被遷移，被擄去；他的嬰孩在各市口上也被摔死。人為他的尊貴人拈鬮；他所有的大人都被鍊子鎖著。
11You too will become drunk, You will be hidden. You too will search for a refuge from the enemy.
11你也必喝醉，必被埋藏，並因仇敵的緣故尋求避難所。
12All your fortifications are fig trees with ripe fruit-- When shaken, they fall into the eater's mouth.
12你一切保障必像無花果樹上初熟的無花果，若一搖撼就落在想吃之人的口中。
13Behold, your people are women in your midst! The gates of your land are opened wide to your enemies; Fire consumes your gate bars.
13你地上的人民如同婦女；你國中的關口向仇敵敞開；你的門閂被火焚燒。
14Draw for yourself water for the siege! Strengthen your fortifications! Go into the clay and tread the mortar! Take hold of the brick mold!
14你要打水預備受困；要堅固你的保障，踹土和泥，修補磚窯。
15There fire will consume you, The sword will cut you down; It will consume you as the locust [does]. Multiply yourself like the creeping locust, Multiply yourself like the swarming locust.
15在那裡，火必燒滅你；刀必殺戮你，吞滅你如同蝻子。任你加增人數多如蝻子，多如蝗蟲罷！
16You have increased your traders more than the stars of heaven-- The creeping locust strips and flies away.
16你增添商賈，多過天上的星；蝻子吃盡而去。
17Your guardsmen are like the swarming locust. Your marshals are like hordes of grasshoppers Settling in the stone walls on a cold day. The sun rises and they flee, And the place where they are is not known.
17你的首領多如蝗蟲；你的軍長彷彿成群的螞蚱，天涼的時候齊落在籬笆上，日頭一出便都飛去，人不知道落在何處。
18Your shepherds are sleeping, O king of Assyria; Your nobles are lying down. Your people are scattered on the mountains And there is no one to regather [them].
18亞述王啊，你的牧人睡覺；你的貴冑安歇；你的人民散在山間，無人招聚。
19There is no relief for your breakdown, Your wound is incurable. All who hear about you Will clap [their] hands over you, For on whom has not your evil passed continually?
19你的損傷無法醫治；你的傷痕極其重大。凡聽你信息的必都因此向你拍掌。你所行的惡誰沒有時常遭遇呢？
