1When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden, in which He entered with His disciples.
1耶穌說了這話，就同門徒出去，過了汲淪溪。在那裡有一個園子，他和門徒進去了。
2Now Judas also, who was betraying Him, knew the place, for Jesus had often met there with His disciples.
2賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌和門徒屢次上那裡去聚集。
3Judas then, having received the [Roman] cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
3猶大領了一隊兵，和祭司長並法利賽人的差役，拿著燈籠、火把、兵器，就來到園裡。
4So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and said to them, 'Whom do you seek?'
4耶穌知道將要臨到自己的一切事，就出來對他們說：你們找誰？
5They answered Him, 'Jesus the Nazarene.' He said to them, 'I am [He].' And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them.
5他們回答說：找拿撒勒人耶穌。耶穌說：我就是。賣他的猶大也同他們站在那裡。
6So when He said to them, 'I am [He],' they drew back and fell to the ground.
6耶穌一說我就是，他們就退後倒在地上。
7Therefore He again asked them, 'Whom do you seek?' And they said, 'Jesus the Nazarene.'
7他又問他們說：你們找誰？他們說：找拿撒勒人耶穌。
8Jesus answered, 'I told you that I am [He]; so if you seek Me, let these go their way,'
8耶穌說：我已經告訴你們，我就是。你們若找我，就讓這些人去罷。
9to fulfill the word which He spoke, 'Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one.'
9這要應驗耶穌從前的話，說：你所賜給我的人，我沒有失落一個。
10Simon Peter then, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave's name was Malchus.
10西門彼得帶著一把刀，就拔出來，將大祭司的僕人砍了一刀，削掉他的右耳；那僕人名叫馬勒古。
11So Jesus said to Peter, 'Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?'
11耶穌就對彼得說：收刀入鞘罷，我父所給我的那杯，我豈可不喝呢？
12So the [Roman] cohort and the commander and the officers of the Jews, arrested Jesus and bound Him,
12那隊兵和千夫長，並猶太人的差役就拿住耶穌，把他捆綁了，
13and led Him to Annas first; for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
13先帶到亞那面前，因為亞那是本年作大祭司該亞法的岳父。
14Now Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it was expedient for one man to die on behalf of the people.
14這該亞法就是從前向猶太人發議論說一個人替百姓死是有益的那位。
15Simon Peter was following Jesus, and [so] [was] another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered with Jesus into the court of the high priest,
15西門彼得跟著耶穌，還有一個門徒跟著。那門徒是大祭司所認識的，他就同耶穌進了大祭司的院子。
16but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter in.
16彼得卻站在門外。大祭司所認識的那個門徒出來，和看門的使女說了一聲，就領彼得進去。
17Then the slave-girl who kept the door said to Peter, 'You are not also [one] of this man's disciples, are you?' He said, 'I am not.'
17那看門的使女對彼得說：你不也是這人的門徒麼？他說：我不是。
18Now the slaves and the officers were standing [there], having made a charcoal fire, for it was cold and they were warming themselves; and Peter was also with them, standing and warming himself.
18僕人和差役因為天冷，就生了炭火，站在那裡烤火；彼得也同他們站著烤火。
19The high priest then questioned Jesus about His disciples, and about His teaching.
19大祭司就以耶穌的門徒和他的教訓盤問他。
20Jesus answered him, 'I have spoken openly to the world; I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.
20耶穌回答說：我從來是明明的對世人說話。我常在會堂和殿裡，就是猶太人聚集的地方教訓人；我在暗地裡並沒有說甚麼。
21'Why do you question Me? Question those who have heard what I spoke to them; they know what I said.'
21你為甚麼問我呢？可以問那聽見的人，我對他們說的是甚麼；我所說的，他們都知道。
22When He had said this, one of the officers standing nearby struck Jesus, saying, 'Is that the way You answer the high priest?'
22耶穌說了這話，旁邊站著的一個差役用手掌打他，說：你這樣回答大祭司麼？
23Jesus answered him, 'If I have spoken wrongly, testify of the wrong; but if rightly, why do you strike Me?'
23耶穌說：我若說的不是，你可以指證那不是；我若說的是，你為甚麼打我呢？
24So Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
24亞那就把耶穌解到大祭司該亞法那裡，仍是捆著解去的。
25Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, 'You are not also [one] of His disciples, are you?' He denied [it], and said, 'I am not.'
25西門彼得正站著烤火，有人對他說：你不也是他的門徒麼？彼得不承認，說：我不是。
26One of the slaves of the high priest, being a relative of the one whose ear Peter cut off, said, 'Did I not see you in the garden with Him?'
26有大祭司的一個僕人，是彼得削掉耳朵那人的親屬，說：我不是看見你同他在園子裡麼？
27Peter then denied [it] again, and immediately a rooster crowed.
27彼得又不承認。立時雞就叫了。
28Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
28眾人將耶穌從該亞法那裡往衙門內解去，那時天還早。他們自己卻不進衙門，恐怕染了污穢，不能吃逾越節的筵席。
29Therefore Pilate went out to them and said, 'What accusation do you bring against this Man?'
29彼拉多就出來，到他們那裡，說：你們告這人是為甚麼事呢？
30They answered and said to him, 'If this Man were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him to you.'
30他們回答說：這人若不是作惡的，我們就不把他交給你。
31So Pilate said to them, 'Take Him yourselves, and judge Him according to your law.' The Jews said to him, 'We are not permitted to put anyone to death,'
31彼拉多說：你們自己帶他去，按著你們的律法審問他罷。猶太人說：我們沒有殺人的權柄。
32to fulfill the word of Jesus which He spoke, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.
32這要應驗耶穌所說自己將要怎樣死的話了。
33Therefore Pilate entered again into the Praetorium, and summoned Jesus and said to Him, 'Are You the King of the Jews?'
33彼拉多又進了衙門，叫耶穌來，對他說：你是猶太人的王麼？
34Jesus answered, 'Are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about Me?'
34耶穌回答說：這話是你自己說的，還是別人論我對你說的呢？
35Pilate answered, 'I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered You to me; what have You done?'
35彼拉多說：我豈是猶太人呢？你本國的人和祭司長把你交給我。你做了甚麼事呢？
36Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.'
36耶穌回答說：我的國不屬這世界；我的國若屬這世界，我的臣僕必要爭戰，使我不至於被交給猶太人。只是我的國不屬這世界。
37Therefore Pilate said to Him, 'So You are a king?' Jesus answered, 'You say [correctly] that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.'
37彼拉多就對他說：這樣，你是王麼？耶穌回答說：你說我是王。我為此而生，也為此來到世間，特為給真理作見證。凡屬真理的人就聽我的話。
38Pilate said to Him, 'What is truth?' And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, 'I find no guilt in Him.
38彼拉多說：真理是甚麼呢？說了這話，又出來到猶太人那裡，對他們說：我查不出他有甚麼罪來。
39'But you have a custom that I release someone for you at the Passover; do you wish then that I release for you the King of the Jews?'
39但你們有個規矩，在逾越節要我給你們釋放一個人，你們要我給你們釋放猶太人的王麼？
40So they cried out again, saying, 'Not this Man, but Barabbas.' Now Barabbas was a robber.
40他們又喊著說：不要這人，要巴拉巴！這巴拉巴是個強盜。
