1Woe to those who enact evil statutes And to those who constantly record unjust decisions,
1禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的和記錄奸詐之判語的，
2So as to deprive the needy of justice And rob the poor of My people of [their] rights, So that widows may be their spoil And that they may plunder the orphans.
2為要屈枉窮乏人，奪去我民中困苦人的理，以寡婦當作擄物，以孤兒當作掠物。
3Now what will you do in the day of punishment, And in the devastation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?
3到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們怎樣行呢？你們向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的榮耀（或譯：財寶）存留何處呢？
4Nothing [remains] but to crouch among the captives Or fall among the slain. In [spite of] all this, His anger does not turn away And His hand is still stretched out.
4他們只得屈身在被擄的人以下，仆倒在被殺的人以下。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。
5Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hands is My indignation,
5亞述是我怒氣的棍，手中拿我惱恨的杖。
6I send it against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My fury To capture booty and to seize plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets.
6我要打發他攻擊褻瀆的國民，吩咐他攻擊我所惱怒的百姓，搶財為擄物，奪貨為掠物，將他們踐踏，像街上的泥土一樣。
7Yet it does not so intend, Nor does it plan so in its heart, But rather it is its purpose to destroy And to cut off many nations.
7然而，他不是這樣的意思；他心也不這樣打算。他心裡倒想毀滅，剪除不少的國。
8For it says, 'Are not my princes all kings?
8他說：我的臣僕豈不都是王嗎？
9'Is not Calno like Carchemish, Or Hamath like Arpad, Or Samaria like Damascus?
9迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施嗎？哈馬豈不像亞珥拔嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不像大馬色嗎？
10'As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols, Whose graven images [were] greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
10我手已經搆到有偶像的國；這些國雕刻的偶像過於耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像。
11Shall I not do to Jerusalem and her images Just as I have done to Samaria and her idols?'
11我怎樣待撒瑪利亞和其中的偶像，豈不照樣待耶路撒冷和其中的偶像嗎？
12So it will be that when the Lord has completed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, [He will say], 'I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the pomp of his haughtiness.'
12主在錫安山和耶路撒冷成就他一切工作的時候，主說：我必罰亞述王自大的心和他高傲眼目的榮耀。
13For he has said, 'By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did [this], For I have understanding; And I removed the boundaries of the peoples And plundered their treasures, And like a mighty man I brought down [their] inhabitants,
13因為他說：我所成就的事是靠我手的能力和我的智慧，我本有聰明。我挪移列國的地界，搶奪他們所積蓄的財寶；並且我像勇士，使坐寶座的降為卑。
14And my hand reached to the riches of the peoples like a nest, And as one gathers abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth; And there was not one that flapped its wing or opened [its] beak or chirped.'
14我的手搆到列國的財寶，好像人搆到鳥窩；我也得了全地，好像人拾起所棄的雀蛋。沒有動翅膀的；沒有張嘴的，也沒有鳴叫的。
15Is the axe to boast itself over the one who chops with it? Is the saw to exalt itself over the one who wields it? [That would be] like a club wielding those who lift it, [Or] like a rod lifting [him who] is not wood.
15斧豈可向用斧砍木的自誇呢？鋸豈可向用鋸的自大呢？好比棍掄起那舉棍的，好比杖舉起那非木的人。
16Therefore the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will send a wasting disease among his stout warriors; And under his glory a fire will be kindled like a burning flame.
16因此，主─萬軍之耶和華必使亞述王的肥壯人變為瘦弱，在他的榮華之下必有火著起，如同焚燒一樣。
17And the light of Israel will become a fire and his Holy One a flame, And it will burn and devour his thorns and his briars in a single day.
17以色列的光必如火；他的聖者必如火燄。在一日之間，將亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒淨盡；
18And He will destroy the glory of his forest and of his fruitful garden, both soul and body, And it will be as when a sick man wastes away.
18又將他樹林和肥田的榮耀全然燒盡，好像拿軍旗的昏過去一樣。
19And the rest of the trees of his forest will be so small in number That a child could write them down.
19他林中剩下的樹必稀少，就是孩子也能寫其數。
20Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
20到那日，以色列所剩下的和雅各家所逃脫的，不再倚靠那擊打他們的，卻要誠實倚靠耶和華─以色列的聖者。
21A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
21所剩下的，就是雅各家所剩下的，必歸回全能的神。
22For though your people, O Israel, may be like the sand of the sea, [Only] a remnant within them will return; A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
22以色列啊，你的百姓雖多如海沙，惟有剩下的歸回。原來滅絕的事已定，必有公義施行，如水漲溢。
23For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, the Lord GOD of hosts will execute in the midst of the whole land.
23因為主─萬軍之耶和華在全地之中必成就所定規的結局。
24Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, 'O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod and lifts up his staff against you, the way Egypt [did].
24所以，主─萬軍之耶和華如此說：住錫安我的百姓啊，亞述王雖然用棍擊打你，又照埃及的樣子舉杖攻擊你，你卻不要怕他。
25'For in a very little while My indignation [against you] will be spent and My anger [will be directed] to their destruction.'
25因為還有一點點時候，向你們發的忿恨就要完畢，我的怒氣要向他發作，使他滅亡。
26The LORD of hosts will arouse a scourge against him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; and His staff will be over the sea and He will lift it up the way [He did] in Egypt.
26萬軍之耶和華要興起鞭來攻擊他，好像在俄立磐石那裡殺戮米甸人一樣。耶和華的杖要向海伸出，把杖舉起，像在埃及一樣。
27So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken because of fatness.
27到那日，亞述王的重擔必離開你的肩頭；他的軛必離開你的頸項；那軛也必因肥壯的緣故撐斷（或譯：因膏油的緣故毀壞）。
28He has come against Aiath, He has passed through Migron; At Michmash he deposited his baggage.
28亞述王來到亞葉，經過米磯崙，在密抹安放輜重。
29They have gone through the pass, [saying], 'Geba will be our lodging place.' Ramah is terrified, and Gibeah of Saul has fled away.
29他們過了隘口，在迦巴住宿。拉瑪人戰兢；掃羅的基比亞人逃跑。
30Cry aloud with your voice, O daughter of Gallim! Pay attention, Laishah [and] wretched Anathoth!
30迦琳的居民（原文是女子）哪，要高聲呼喊！萊煞人哪，須聽！哀哉！困苦的亞拿突啊。
31Madmenah has fled. The inhabitants of Gebim have sought refuge.
31瑪得米那人躲避；基柄的居民逃遁。
32Yet today he will halt at Nob; He shakes his fist at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
32當那日，亞述王要在挪伯歇兵，向錫安女子的山─就是耶路撒冷的山─掄手攻他。
33Behold, the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will lop off the boughs with a terrible crash; Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down And those who are lofty will be abased.
33看哪，主─萬軍之耶和華以驚嚇削去樹枝；長高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。
34He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an iron [axe], And Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.
34稠密的樹林，他要用鐵器砍下；利巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。
