1Now after this it came about that David defeated the Philistines and subdued them; and David took control of the chief city from the hand of the Philistines.
1此後，大衛攻打非利士人，把他們治服，從他們手下奪取了京城的權柄（原文是母城的嚼環）；
2He defeated Moab, and measured them with the line, making them lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David, bringing tribute.
2又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，用繩量一量：量二繩的殺了，量一繩的存留。摩押人就歸服大衛，給他進貢。
3Then David defeated Hadadezer, the son of Rehob king of Zobah, as he went to restore his rule at the River.
3瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝往大河去，要奪回他的國權。大衛就攻打他，
4David captured from him 1,700 horsemen and 20,000 foot soldiers; and David hamstrung the chariot horses, but reserved [enough] of them for 100 chariots.
4擒拿了他的馬兵一千七百，步兵二萬，將拉戰車的馬砍斷蹄筋，但留下一百輛車.的馬。
5When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David killed 22,000 Arameans.
5大馬色的亞蘭人來幫助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛就殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。
6Then David put garrisons among the Arameans of Damascus, and the Arameans became servants to David, bringing tribute. And the LORD helped David wherever he went.
6於是大衛在大馬色的亞蘭地設立防營，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。
7David took the shields of gold which were carried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
7他奪了哈大底謝臣僕所拿的金盾牌，帶到耶路撒冷。
8From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a very large amount of bronze.
8大衛王又從屬哈大底謝的比他和比羅他城中奪取了許多的銅。
9Now when Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer,
9哈馬王陀以聽見大衛殺敗哈大底謝的全軍，
10Toi sent Joram his son to King David to greet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him; for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi. And [Joram] brought with him articles of silver, of gold and of bronze.
10就打發他兒子約蘭去見大衛王，問他的安，為他祝福，因為他殺敗了哈大底謝（原來陀以與哈大底謝常常爭戰）。約蘭帶了金銀銅的器皿來，
11King David also dedicated these to the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations which he had subdued:
11大衛王將這些器皿和他治服各國所得來的金銀都分別為聖，獻給耶和華，
12from Aram and Moab and the sons of Ammon and the Philistines and Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
12就是從亞蘭、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所得來的，以及從瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝所掠之物。
13So David made a name [for himself] when he returned from killing 18,000 Arameans in the Valley of Salt.
13大衛在鹽谷擊殺了亞蘭（或譯：以東，見詩篇六十篇詩題）一萬八千人回來，就得了大名；
14He put garrisons in Edom. In all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the LORD helped David wherever he went.
14又在以東全地設立防營，以東人就都歸服大衛。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。
15So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered justice and righteousness for all his people.
15大衛作以色列眾人的王，又向眾民秉公行義。
16Joab the son of Zeruiah [was] over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder.
16洗魯雅的兒子約押作元帥；亞希律的兒子約沙法作史官；
17Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar [were] priests, and Seraiah [was] secretary.
17亞希突的兒子撒督和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長；西萊雅作書記；
18Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
18耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄基利提人和比利提人。大衛的眾子都作領袖。
