1In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash became king, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
1耶戶第七年，約阿施登基，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母親名叫西比亞，是別是巴人。
2Jehoash did right in the sight of the LORD all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
2約阿施在祭司耶何耶大教訓他的時候，就行耶和華眼中看為正的事；
3Only the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
3只是邱壇還沒有廢去，百姓仍在那裡獻祭燒香。
4Then Jehoash said to the priests, 'All the money of the sacred things which is brought into the house of the LORD, in current money, [both] the money of each man's assessment [and] all the money which any man's heart prompts him to bring into the house of the LORD,
4約阿施對眾祭司說：凡奉到耶和華殿分別為聖之物所值通用的銀子，或各人當納的身價，或樂意奉到耶和華殿的銀子，
5let the priests take it for themselves, each from his acquaintance; and they shall repair the damages of the house wherever any damage may be found.'
5你們當從所認識的人收了來，修理殿的一切破壞之處。
6But it came about that in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had not repaired the damages of the house.
6無奈到了約阿施王二十三年，祭司仍未修理殿的破壞之處。
7Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the [other] priests and said to them, 'Why do you not repair the damages of the house? Now therefore take no [more] money from your acquaintances, but pay it for the damages of the house.'
7所以約阿施王召了大祭司耶何耶大和眾祭司來，對他們說：你們怎麼不修理殿的破壞之處呢？從今以後，你們不要從所認識的人再收銀子，要將所收的交出來，修理殿的破壞之處。
8So the priests agreed that they would take no [more] money from the people, nor repair the damages of the house.
8眾祭司答應不再收百姓的銀子，也不修理殿的破壞之處。
9But Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid and put it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the house of the LORD; and the priests who guarded the threshold put in it all the money which was brought into the house of the LORD.
9祭司耶何耶大取了一個櫃子，在櫃蓋上鑽了一個窟窿，放於壇旁，在進耶和華殿的右邊；守門的祭司將奉到耶和華殿的一切銀子投在櫃裡。
10When they saw that there was much money in the chest, the king's scribe and the high priest came up and tied [it] in bags and counted the money which was found in the house of the LORD.
10他們見櫃裡的銀子多了，便叫王的書記和大祭司上來，將耶和華殿裡的銀子數算包起來。
11They gave the money which was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of the house of the LORD; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the house of the LORD;
11把所平的銀子交給督工的，就是耶和華殿裡辦事的人；他們把銀子轉交修理耶和華殿的木匠和工人，
12and to the masons and the stonecutters, and for buying timber and hewn stone to repair the damages to the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
12並瓦匠、石匠，又買木料和鑿成的石頭，修理耶和華殿的破壞之處，以及修理殿的各樣使用。
13But there were not made for the house of the LORD silver cups, snuffers, bowls, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver from the money which was brought into the house of the LORD;
13但那奉到耶和華殿的銀子，沒有用以做耶和華殿裡的銀杯、蠟剪、碗、號，和別樣的金銀器皿，
14for they gave that to those who did the work, and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.
14乃將那銀子交給督工的人修理耶和華的殿；
15Moreover, they did not require an accounting from the men into whose hand they gave the money to pay to those who did the work, for they dealt faithfully.
15且將銀子交給辦事的人轉交做工的人，不與他們算賬，因為他們辦事誠實。
16The money from the guilt offerings and the money from the sin offerings was not brought into the house of the LORD; it was for the priests.
16惟有贖愆祭、贖罪祭的銀子沒有奉到耶和華的殿，都歸祭司。
17Then Hazael king of Aram went up and fought against Gath and captured it, and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
17那時，亞蘭王哈薛上來攻打迦特，攻取了，就定意上來攻打耶路撒冷。
18Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own sacred things and all the gold that was found among the treasuries of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent [them] to Hazael king of Aram. Then he went away from Jerusalem.
18猶大王約阿施將他列祖猶大王約沙法、約蘭、亞哈謝所分別為聖的物和自己所分別為聖的物，並耶和華殿與王宮府庫裡所有的金子都送給亞蘭王哈薛；哈薛就不上耶路撒冷來了。
19Now the rest of the acts of Joash and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
19約阿施其餘的事，凡他所行的都寫在猶大列王記上。
20His servants arose and made a conspiracy and struck down Joash at the house of Millo [as he was] going down to Silla.
20約阿施的臣僕起來背叛，在下悉拉的米羅宮那裡將他殺了。
21For Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck [him] and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Amaziah his son became king in his place.
21殺他的那臣僕就是示米押的兒子約撒甲和朔默的兒子約薩拔。眾人將他葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。
