1Now when David reached old age, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
1大衛年紀老邁，日子滿足，就立他兒子所羅門作以色列的王。
2And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel with the priests and the Levites.
2大衛招聚以色列的眾首領和祭司利未人。
3The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward, and their number by census of men was 38,000.
3利未人從三十歲以外的都被數點，他們男丁的數目共有三萬八千；
4Of these, 24,000 were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and 6,000 [were] officers and judges,
4其中有二萬四千人管理耶和華殿的事，有六千人作官長和士師，
5and 4,000 [were] gatekeepers, and 4,000 [were] praising the LORD with the instruments which David made for giving praise.
5有四千人作守門的，又有四千人用大衛所做的樂器頌讚耶和華。
6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
6大衛將利未人革順、哥轄、米拉利的子孫分了班次。
7Of the Gershonites [were] Ladan and Shimei.
7革順的子孫有拉但和示每。
8The sons of Ladan [were] Jehiel the first and Zetham and Joel, three.
8拉但的長子是耶歇，還有細坦和約珥，共三人。
9The sons of Shimei [were] Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers' [households] of Ladan.
9示每的兒子是示羅密、哈薛、哈蘭三人。這是拉但族的族長。
10The sons of Shimei [were] Jahath, Zina, Jeush and Beriah. These four [were] the sons of Shimei.
10示每的兒子是雅哈、細拿、耶烏施、比利亞共四人。
11Jahath was the first and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they became a father's household, one class.
11雅哈是長子，細撒是次子。但耶烏施和比利亞的子孫不多，所以算為一族。
12The sons of Kohath were four: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
12哥轄的兒子是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯倫、烏薛共四人。
13The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was set apart to sanctify him as most holy, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to Him and to bless in His name forever.
13暗蘭的兒子是亞倫、摩西。亞倫和他的子孫分出來，好分別至聖的物，在耶和華面前燒香、事奉他，奉他的名祝福，直到永遠。
14But [as for] Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
14至於神人摩西，他的子孫名字記在利未支派的冊上。
15The sons of Moses [were] Gershom and Eliezer.
15摩西的兒子是革舜和以利以謝。
16The son of Gershom [was] Shebuel the chief.
16革舜的長子是細布業；
17The son of Eliezer was Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
17以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅。以利以謝沒有別的兒子，但利哈比雅的子孫甚多。
18The son of Izhar was Shelomith the chief.
18以斯哈的長子是示羅密。
19The sons of Hebron [were] Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth.
19希伯倫的長子是耶利雅，次子是亞瑪利亞，三子是雅哈悉，四子是耶加面。
20The sons of Uzziel [were] Micah the first and Isshiah the second.
20烏薛的長子是米迦，次子是耶西雅。
21The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli [were] Eleazar and Kish.
21米拉利的兒子是抹利、母示。抹利的兒子是以利亞撒、基士。
22Eleazar died and had no sons, but daughters only, so their brothers, the sons of Kish, took them [as wives].
22以利亞撒死了，沒有兒子，只有女兒，他們本族基士的兒子娶了他們為妻。
23The sons of Mushi [were] three: Mahli, Eder and Jeremoth.
23母示的兒子是末力、以得、耶利摩共三人。
24These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' households, [even] the heads of the fathers' [households] of those of them who were counted, in the number of names by their census, doing the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.
24以上利未子孫作族長的，照著男丁的數目，從二十歲以外，都辦耶和華殿的事務。
25For David said, 'The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever.
25大衛說：耶和華─以色列的神已經使他的百姓平安，他永遠住在耶路撒冷。
26'Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.'
26利未人不必再抬帳幕和其中所用的一切器皿了。
27For by the last words of David the sons of Levi [were] numbered from twenty years old and upward.
27照著大衛臨終所吩咐的，利未人從二十歲以外的都被數點。
28For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts and in the chambers and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God,
28他們的職任是服事亞倫的子孫，在耶和華的殿和院子，並屋中辦事，潔淨一切聖物，就是辦神殿的事務，
29and with the showbread, and the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or [what is baked in] the pan or what is well-mixed, and all measures of volume and size.
29並管理陳設餅，素祭的細麵，或無酵薄餅，或用盤烤，或用油調和的物，又管理各樣的升斗尺度；
30They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at evening,
30每日早晚，站立稱謝讚美耶和華，
31and to offer all burnt offerings to the LORD, on the sabbaths, the new moons and the fixed festivals in the number [set] by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD.
31又在安息日、月朔，並節期，按數照例，將燔祭常常獻給耶和華；
32Thus they are to keep charge of the tent of meeting, and charge of the holy place, and charge of the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the LORD.
32又看守會幕和聖所，並守耶和華吩咐他們弟兄亞倫子孫的，辦耶和華殿的事。
