1A Song of Ascents, of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
1（所羅門上行之詩。）若不是耶和華建造房屋，建造的人就枉然勞力；若不是耶和華看守城池，看守的人就枉然警醒。
2It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved [even in his] sleep.
2你們清晨早起，夜晚安歇，吃勞碌得來的飯，本是枉然；惟有耶和華所親愛的，必叫他安然睡覺。
3Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
3兒女是耶和華所賜的產業；所懷的胎是他所給的賞賜。
4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.
4少年時所生的兒女好像勇士手中的箭。
5How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
5箭袋充滿的人便為有福；他們在城門口和仇敵說話的時候，必不至於羞愧。
