1Now when Jerusalem was captured in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it;
1猶大王西底家第九年十月，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領全軍來圍困耶路撒冷。
2in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in the ninth [day] of the month, the city [wall] was breached.
2西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。
3Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat down at the Middle Gate: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu, Sar-sekim the Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer [the] Rab-mag, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
3耶路撒冷被攻取的時候，巴比倫王的首領尼甲•沙利薛、三甲•尼波、撒西金─拉撒力、尼甲•沙利薛─拉墨，並巴比倫王其餘的一切首領都來坐在中門。
4When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they fled and went out of the city at night by way of the king's garden through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.
4猶大王西底家和一切兵丁看見他們，就在夜間從靠近王園兩城中間的門出城逃跑，往亞拉巴逃去。
5But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they seized him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.
5迦勒底的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，將他拿住，帶到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裡；尼布甲尼撒就審判他。
6Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slew all the nobles of Judah.
6巴比倫王在利比拉、西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，又殺了猶大的一切貴冑，
7He then blinded Zedekiah's eyes and bound him in fetters of bronze to bring him to Babylon.
7並且剜西底家的眼睛，用銅鍊鎖著他，要帶到巴比倫去。
8The Chaldeans also burned with fire the king's palace and the houses of the people, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
8迦勒底人用火焚燒王宮和百姓的房屋，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆。
9As for the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to him and the rest of the people who remained, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard carried [them] into exile in Babylon.
9那時，護衛長尼布撒拉旦將城裡所剩下的百姓和投降他的逃民，以及其餘的民都擄到巴比倫去了。
10But some of the poorest people who had nothing, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard left behind in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at that time.
10護衛長尼布撒拉旦卻將民中毫無所有的窮人留在猶大地，當時給他們葡萄園和田地。
11Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, saying,
11巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒提到耶利米，囑咐護衛長尼布撒拉旦說：
12'Take him and look after him, and do nothing harmful to him, but rather deal with him just as he tells you.'
12你領他去，好好地看待他，切不可害他；他對你怎麼說，你就向他怎麼行。
13So Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard sent [word], along with Nebushazban the Rab-saris, and Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, and all the leading officers of the king of Babylon;
13護衛長尼布撒拉旦和尼布沙斯班─拉撒力、尼甲•沙利薛─拉墨，並巴比倫王的一切官長，
14they even sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guardhouse and entrusted him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he stayed among the people.
14打發人去，將耶利米從護衛兵院中提出來，交與沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利，帶回家去。於是耶利米住在民中。
15Now the word of the LORD had come to Jeremiah while he was confined in the court of the guardhouse, saying,
15耶利米還囚在護衛兵院中的時候，耶和華的話臨到他說：
16'Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Behold, I am about to bring My words on this city for disaster and not for prosperity; and they will take place before you on that day.
16你去告訴古實人以伯•米勒說，萬軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：我說降禍不降福的話必臨到這城，到那時必在你面前成就了。
17'But I will deliver you on that day,' declares the LORD, 'and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you dread.
17耶和華說：到那日我必拯救你，你必不致交在你所怕的人手中。
18'For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not fall by the sword; but you will have your [own] life as booty, because you have trusted in Me,' declares the LORD.''
18我定要搭救你，你不致倒在刀下，卻要以自己的命為掠物，因你倚靠我。這是耶和華說的。
