1Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out [to battle], that Joab led out the army and ravaged the land of the sons of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. And Joab struck Rabbah and overthrew it.
1過了一年，到列王出戰的時候，約押率領軍兵毀壞亞捫人的地，圍攻拉巴；大衛仍住在耶路撒冷。約押攻打拉巴，將城傾覆。
2David took the crown of their king from his head, and he found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there was a precious stone in it; and it was placed on David's head. And he brought out the spoil of the city, a very great amount.
2大衛奪了亞捫人之王(王或作瑪勒堪。瑪勒堪即米勒公，是亞捫族之神名)所戴的金冠冕，其上的金子重一他連得，又嵌著寶石；人將這冠冕戴在大衛頭上。大衛從城裡奪了許多財物，
3He brought out the people who [were] in it, and cut [them] with saws and with sharp instruments and with axes. And thus David did to all the cities of the sons of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned [to] Jerusalem.
3將城裡的人拉出來，放在鋸下，或鐵耙下，或鐵斧下(或作強他們用鋸，或用打糧食的鐵器，或用鐵斧作工)，大衛待亞捫各城的居民都是如此。其後大衛和眾軍都回耶路撒冷去了。
4Now it came about after this, that war broke out at Gezer with the Philistines; then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the giants, and they were subdued.
4後來，以色列人在基色與非利士人打仗。戶沙人西比該殺了偉人的一個兒子細派，非利士人就被制伏了。
5And there was war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam.
5又與非利士人打仗。睚珥的兒子伊勒哈難殺了迦特人歌利亞的兄弟拉哈米；這人的槍桿粗如織布的機軸。
6Again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of [great] stature who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six [fingers on each hand] and six [toes on each foot]; and he also was descended from the giants.
6又在迦特打仗。那裡有一個身量高大的人，手腳都是六指，共有二十四個指頭，他也是偉人的兒子。
7When he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him.
7這人向以色列人罵陣，大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子約拿單就殺了他。
8These were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
8這三個人是迦特偉人的兒子，都死在大衛和他僕人的手下。
